Latest hockey news

Club training during August will be Weds evenings 7-8pm at Whitchurch on Weds, 11th, 18th and 25th. These are our fun sessions - those of you who attended last year can verify this - it's not much about hockey but about getting some fitness sorted etc and hopefully going for a drink afterwards.

1st team squad training starts in August at WIS. Dates are Monday 9th, 16th and 23rd from 7-8pm. No training on Monday 30th August - Bank hol. But continues then Mon 6th September onwards. Vicki and Jen will be in touch with members who are required to attend these sessions - if any players wishes to discuss further please talk to Vicki and Jen. From Mon 6th September the rota will be back for these sessions and the 2nds, 3rds/4ths will have half the pitch on selected Mondays (as well as club training on Weds). Rota starts with the GKs on Mon 6th September, 2nds Monday 13th September, 3rds and 4ths Monday 20th September, Monday 27th September GKs etc etc. (We have put the 3s/4s together due to the low numbers of 3s attending last season - if this changes then the rota can change)

Badgers Fixtures..... Sunday, 1st August 11am-12pm at Whitchurch School v Bridgend.

Update on our Youths who are in the International squads :

Under 16's : Alys Smith and Ruth Hodge played for Wales in Dublin last weekend - see photo on the Youth page (Shannon Dimmock was non travelling reserve.)
U18's : Emma Gowman, Pheobe Richards, and Jo Westwood will be travelling to the 4 Nations in Cork, Erin Gough & Rebekah Woods also still in the squad.
U21's : Emma Gowman and Pheobe Richards are in selection for the Euro's in Bra, Italy still to be confirmed. Phoebe also played in the Celtic Cup in Cookstown, N Ireland last week scoring Wales's only goal for the tournament.
Loads of congratulations to them all.

Summer fun hockey Two sessions remaining Sat 7th & 21st August 10-11am at the school.
There will be a small charge to cover the cost of the pitchand Gaynor/Kerin will collect the money each time so PLEASE bring some money with you - it takes a lot of time and effort to chase people who forget to pay!!! (cost will be approx £2/£2.50 per session - it depends on numbers turning up)
This is open to everyone including any potential new members. If you have friends who'd like to come along then they are more than welcome.

Tesco Vouchers - Hi everyone, we are now collecting Tesco vouchers so that we can get equipment etc. for the club. Please collect as many as you can and and give them to either Nia Gough, Erin or Biscuit. Cheers a lot.
